Music Production For Women in London
Music Production Courses For Women at LSA
On this International Women's Day we are redefining our mission to encourage more women into music production. We've long been supporters of equality in electronic music and we've had notable successes including becoming the main DJ and production studio in London for women students.
LSA Success Stories For Women in Music...
We have created a welcoming, encouraging and creative environment in our studios to encourage people of all backgrounds to learn about electronic dance music regardless of gender, sexual orientation and ethnicity.
We helped create Flesh Festival which is the UK's first queer camping festival with over 90% of the lineup being from underrepresented groups, mainly female artists. We also offered a free scholarship for two female artists who will perform at the event itself. In addition we have placed female DJs for Elrow, SW4, Together Ibiza, Es Paradis and Sankeys.
We worked with Ministry of Sound to create 'Harmony' the first female-only DJ event brand at the club that will be continuing to offer DJ opportunities for women. We have helped the club equalise their lineups and continue to do so with our goals to help more women enter the DJ world.
We have had many successful female DJs and producers both teach and learn at LSA including The Blessed Madonna and Peggy Gou as part of Smirnoff's equalising music campaign headed by Annie Mac.
Our female DJ Course graduates have played in the main rooms of all the famous clubs in London including Printworks, Ministry of Sound, Egg LDN, Brixton Academy and more.
Our New Drive To Help More Women Get Into Music Production
Our DJ courses are very popular with women and now we want to help more women make it in the world of music production! At LSA students for both our DJ and production courses can choose their tutors and their lesson times. They can choose to work with female or male tutors and lessons are taught one-to-one.
If you would like to book a one-to-one DJ or production course and get to choose your tutor and lesson times click here.
We understand that the music industry is still not equal when it comes to the balance of male and female artists and those that work behind closed doors in the industry as gate keepers. We encourage women to help equalise the industry by learning how to DJ or produce so that they can become a valuable addition to the electronic dance music scene. The industry is better with more women actively working in it which is why music production courses for women are vitally important.
To encourage more women into the world of music production we have created one-to-one courses with female tutors and now we will launch discounted group classes where you can explore the beginner concepts of music production in a supportive and create environment. It will open your eyes to a new obsession!
