Introduction to DJing for Children - £159

The first step is to enrol your child on the introduction to DJing course. This is a group course that runs every Saturday from 11am at London Sound Academy. There are two groups, age 8-11 and age 11-14 It will teach them how to use DJ software and DJ equipment so that they can mix the music they love. The DJ lessons are fun and engaging held within a safe and creative environment full of supportive tutors!

All DJ tutors have enhanced DBS checks and follow child safeguarding procedures and have experience teaching children of all ages including those with SEN.

There are four one hour DJ lessons in the introduction to DJing course. The lessons run every Saturday at 11am and the course runs for four weeks from the first Saturday of the month. We also run additional classes during half term breaks and school holidays. please contact us for availability.

What They Will Learn in Their DJ Lessons?

During the introduction to DJing course they will learn how to source and prepare their music using industry-standard free DJ software. Learning how to use their DJ software will help them with their general computer and software skills and also help with their music theory understanding. During this part of the lesson they will learn about harmony, musical keys and harmonic mixing.

Once their playlist is ready we will show them how to use the DJ equipment to load their music and explain what the main functions of the hardware are there for. We will then teach them how beat-match, blend and mix their music together. Overall, they will be learning how to DJ but they will also build confidence with computer, music and interpersonal skills. During the lessons they will be encouraged to work together to perform some tasks helping them build friendships within the group.

The lessons will be adapted to suit their age range and any special needs they may have. We will make sure every child feels welcome and that they are getting all the attention they deserve as budding DJs!

Certificate of Achievement

On completion of the introduction to DJing course every child will receive an LSA Certificate and report from their tutor. This achievement will help them gain confidence in themselves and spark a passion for electronic music. If they wish to further their DJ skills they can sign up for more lessons, courses or book studio time! You can also take advantage of our student discount on Pioneer DJ equipment.
