They DJ Competition: How to win a set at Colour Factory

It's DJ Competition Season! Hot off the heels of the LSA x New World Festival DJ Competition we have another incredible opportunity to win a DJ set! This time, LSA have partnered with They to offer the chance to win a DJ set at Colour Factory in Hackney Wick. Arguably, one of the coolest venues in London right now!

They is a queer party for the LGBTQI community and its allies. They hold regular events at many of the UK's best venues and just announced their biggest night yet at Colour Factory. CF is a medium sized club with a warehouse rave aesthetic and huge booming sound system. It's located at the epicentre of the East London rave scene and hosts events for a spectrum of communities and music styles.

They will take over Colour Factory on the 31st of August 2024 for an open air day party 2pm-9pm. LSA favourite Michelle Manetti will hit the decks along with bastions of the scene Ross Anderson, Suzie Mac, Vivian Bam Bam and more. There will be go-go dancers, make-up by Maniacc, food and good times! Tickets start from only £6 and are available on RA.

Michelle Manetti is one of the darlings of the London queer scene often headlining the best raves in the city. Her own event, Fèmmme Fraîche, is one of the cities best club nights and communities for queer women in electronic music, non-binary, trans and LGBTQI DJs. Her DJs sets are pure energy, all thrillers and no fillers!

To celebrate this epic event They have launched a DJ competition to find aspiring new talent. They are looking for a House music DJ who can create the perfect warm-up for this major event. Think pop-remixes, disco bangers and floor fillers!

How To Enter | They DJ Competition

To enter this DJ competition you must create a suitable DJ mix, upload it to Soundcloud or Mixcloud using the artwork below and email your link to info@they-club.com

The deadline for submissions is the 4th of August and the final three will be selected by the 8th of August. The final three will then be invited to perform at London Sound Academy on the 11th of August for the final round! The winner will be chosen by a panel of They promoters and LSA tutors.

At LSA the DJs will be mixing in Studio One, the biggest and best DJ studio in London equipped with a custom built white DJ booth stacked with the latest Pioneer DJ tech. The equipment list includes: CDJ3000s, DJMV10 mixer, RMX1000 FX unit, DJS1000 sampler, TR8 drum machine, additional CDJs and turntables! It's a beast of a setup waiting for the finalists to werk their magic!

We will attempt to live stream the final but we all know the copyright police might interrupt the stream. However, we'll report with videos, photos and content from the day. If you'd like to come to the studio and witness the sets please get in touch.
