About New World Festival: A Future Dance Direction

New World Festival will be held on Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th of August 2024 at Kings Farm in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. This two-day bender boasts a number of high-profile brands including Ministry of Sound, KISS, Worried About Henry, Abode, UKF, Select, Cream, LoveJuice, Paravibe, Garage Shared, Epidemik x Breakin Science and Wonderland.

The main stage is undoubtably going to be the pinnacle of the festival attracting tens of thousands of festival attendees. Saturday's lineup includes powerhouses DJ EZ, Example, Sammy Virji, Low Steppa, Disciples , Notion, BKLAVA , Medcraft, Ryan Spicer, Floyd T and Sam Divine!

LSA x NWF DJ Competition: Info & How to Enter

The winner of this DJ competition will join the incredible New World Festival lineup on the main stage on Sunday the 25th of August 2024. They will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to thousands of fans at New World Festival and will feature on the official artwork. This DJ competition presents a rare chance for an emerging artist to launch their DJ career into the stratosphere! Perform a show-stopping set and It’s your one-way ticket to becoming a viral sensation. 

Not only will the winner of this competition perform a paid DJ set at NWF they will also win an Elite DJ Course at London Sound Academy to prepare them for their biggest DJ gig! The Elite DJ Course is the most advanced DJ course available in Europe and perfect training for headline DJs who want to create a sensational performance. Graduates of the Elite DJ Course will receive LSA's highest honour, the Elite DJ Trophy.

To prepare our winner for media exposure we will also organise an exclusive DJ photoshoot with LSA photographer Thomas Hensher.

How to Enter

Please follow these instructions to enter this DJ competition. You'll need to complete all the steps in order to make a valid entry.

Step 1: Register To Enter

Click here to register for this competition. We will then email you the artwork you need when uploading your mix. Please allow 72 hours for us to email you back.

Step 2: Prepare Your DJ Mix

Craft a mix that represents your unique style and showcases your prowess in electronic music. Be sure to bring the energy that defines the forward-thinking NWF ethos. Bear in mind that the opening set needs to create an atmosphere that gradually warms up the stage for the headline acts. Use the links above to research all the acts on the stage and their style of music.

Create a special mix with a blend of Bass House and UKG.

You need to create a suitable warm-up set, not a peak-time mix.

The mix should be 45 minutes long.

It should have no distortion and well balanced volume. 

It should have no major mistakes.

Top Tip: You need to be proficient at beat-matching by ear in order to handle any technical glitches at important gigs. 

Step 3: Upload Your Mix

Upload your DJ mix along with the official artwork to your Soundcloud or Mixcloud profile. We will email you the artwork once you register.

Step 4: Submit Your Entry

Reply to our first email to send us the link to your DJ mix after you have uploaded it to your Mixcloud or Soundcloud profile. *Do not send a download link.

Step 5: Spread the Word

Share your entry on social media, and encourage your followers to support you. The more buzz you generate, the better your chances. We want to find a DJ who is hungry for this gig and is willing to shout from the rooftops and go all the way in promotion of their mix. 

How is the DJ Competition Judged?

Once you have submitted the mix a panel of three LSA Elite DJ Course tutors will judge the entries and select three finalists. You will be judged on music selection, technical skill and promotional effort. The three finalist DJs will be invited to LSA to perform their mix live in Studio One in front of a panel of tutors. (This is another great content gathering opportunity!) We will then select the winner based on their skills and performance. *If you can't travel to the LSA studios we can arrange an online performance over Zoom.

New World Festival x LSA DJ Competition Timeline

Enter your mix by the 3rd of June 2024*

LSA tutors will judge the entries between the 3rd of June and the 17th of June and announce three finalists on our Instagram

We will invite the three finalists to perform their mix in the studio or online between the 17th of June and the 1st of July

The winner will be announced on the 8th of July 2024 on our Instagram

The DJ set will take place on Sunday the 25th of August 2024
